In fact, this diversity is one of the prerequisites of many excellent cultural events in Geneva held every year. L'escalade is the city's best known festival. It takes place on 11th December when everyone who wishes can chow down unlimited amount (but know where to stop!) of chocolate and marzipan. This festival marks the defeat of the sudden attack by troops sent by Charles Emmanuel I, Duke of Savoy.
If you fond of open-air concerts, fireworks and parades then the Fêtes de Genève is for you. The feast is held over two weekends in August. And the Bol d'Or welcomes you in mid-June when white sails of more than 600 yachts race to the far end of the lake and back.
Apart from annual events Geneva features numerous historical gems worth visiting: Cathédrale de St Pierre, International Museum of Reformation, Jet d'Eau (the world's tallest fountain) and, of course, Patek Phillipe Museum for you can't leave this city without placing your foot in watch-art heaven.
In Geneva you can find a wide range of accommodations, from five-star hotels to less expensive lodgings. Our site is to show you all the options available and give you reasonable prices for facilities you seek for.
