Museum of the Old Geneva was opened in 1984. It is located in an old building which is an important historic monument; its exhibits represent the history of the Old Geneva from Middle Ages till the 19th century. Ariana museum has an excellent collection of ceramics and glass. Barbier-Mueller Museum is in the heart of Old Geneva. It was opened to the public in 1977. It contains a unique collection of megalithic monuments from Indonesia and objects from Oceania.
Bora Collection of Far Eastern Art is stored in an elegant private house of the late 19th century. Museum of Ethnography in Geneva was found in 1901, its seven academic departments are devoted to the cultures of Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. The four floors of a historic building of the 20th century are taken by Museum of Patek Philippe Company.
Museum of Art and History was found in 1903-1910, and conceived as an encyclopedic museum. Geneva is the birthplace of the International Red Cross. This museum is completely dedicated to its work. Switzerland's largest museum, devoted to automobiles, contains over three hundred cars of the different types. It is not the end of the list of the famous museums.
